Carderock Maryland :)

We went rock climbing in Carderock Maryland a bunch this summer, so we had to take the camera a few times!  Carderock has a bunch of spots to climb that are obvious and a few that are quite well hidden.  We did a little of both.  :)

Biceps... Ugh

Biceps was the one climb I never got at Carderock.  It was also the first one I tried!  heh.  It's noly supposed to be a 5.9 climb, but I have succeeded on some 5.10s and this was harder than even the 5.10s I couldn't do!  Brad, Paul and I tried it the first time and even Brad couldn't get it that day and we never went back to it.

Brad failing at Biceps.

Ok so after a bit we gave up on Biceps and moved on to different climbs.

Paul doing another climb.

We called this one "eggs" but I'm not sure what is should be called.

The river you could see from the climb spots.

Scrambing Eggs. :)

The second time.

Brad at the top Eggs.

That climb looked hard, but it really wasn't  There wasn't a whole lot to hold on to, but the foot holds were decent and it had an incline so you could lean into the wall and just use your legs.  The next set of pictures were from another day on another climb.

Me at the top of another climb.

That was it for that day, we didn't have alot of time that time.  The next time, it was just Caleb and I.  We found this crevasse that was pretty easy, but if you took that part out of it and just climbed the face of it, we thought it would be a good challenge.  ;)

Caleb and I found this climb.

EWe mad it a rule that you couldn't use the crevasse. =)

Caleb setting up the TopRope.

This is the face of the wall we did way back when you saw me belaying Paul.

Another picture of it.  :)

Danielle hanging out reading by the rocks.  She usually climbed with us, but she was sick this day.

This is the face I WANT to climb.

Danielle with an angelic glow.

Kacie's dog enjoyed the water quite a bit!

This is the face we did climb that day.

The pictures of the face I want to climb were great, but the setup at the top was difficult and we didn't have the rope or equipment to set up to do it.  We plan on going back and doing it.  ;)

The face we did climb was actually harder than it looked!  The face on the far right was what we climbed.  There were trees in the way. :)
